Our Story
Fieldroot Nursery was born from a simple belief: that the best plants come from growers who care about the process, not just the product.
Based in the heart of the countryside, Fieldroot has grown steadily from a small propagation operation into a trusted supplier for gardeners, landscapers, and trade customers across the region.
What We Grow
Evergreen hedging suited to British gardens, boundaries and screening.
Cherry Laurel and Photinia
Cherry Laurel is the workhorse of British hedging. Photinia Red Robin adds colour to a screen with bright red new growth on an evergreen base.
Leylandii
The fastest evergreen screen on the market. Grown in volume for landscapers and developers across all three pot sizes.
Thuja Brabant and Smaragd
Dense, formal evergreens for screens and boundaries. Brabant for fast vigorous growth, Smaragd for tighter conical form.
Privet and Griselinia
Privet for fast, classic UK hedging. Griselinia for coastal and exposed sites where wind and salt would punish other species.
How We Grow
From cutting to saleable plant, all in one place.
Cuttings are taken from selected parent stock at the right point in the season for each variety, set into cell trays, and held under controlled conditions until rooted. Once they are stable, they are potted into 9cm pots and grown on outside to harden off properly to East Yorkshire weather.
From there, plants move up through 1 litre and 2 to 3 litre stages depending on demand and the time of year. Stock is graded as it goes, so what reaches the sales bench is uniform in size and condition.
The advantage of this approach is control. We know what every plant has been through because we did it. If a customer wants 500 of one variety at one size, we can speak to that with confidence.

East Yorkshire, well placed for regional supply.
The nursery is in East Yorkshire, well placed for supply across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, the East Midlands and the North East. Customers are welcome to collect from the nursery by appointment. We arrange deliveries to landscaping yards, building sites and domestic addresses across the region.
Hedging is a long-term product. The plants going in this season will be a boundary, screen or feature for years. Quality control on the way out of the nursery matters more than any sales pitch. We do not ship plants we would not plant on our own ground. If a batch is not right, it stays here.

Growing Beds
Our outdoor growing beds are where plants spend most of their life. Arranged by species and size, the beds allow us to manage watering, feeding, and grading efficiently.
Potting and Dispatch
Our potting area is where plants are graded, potted on, and prepared for collection or delivery. We check every plant before it leaves the nursery.
